Our barn has a clutch of talented riders who are able, without prior meditation or preparation, mount and ride any horse in the barn. My repertoire is limited to three or four horses that would be described as gelding, seasoned, push-rides. But I do admire the brave souls that swing into the saddle and rise to the challenges of new, exciting and different.
More interesting, perhaps, are the Hollywood actors who ride their own mounts. Not only are they navigating a horse (usually not their own), but they are performing scenes from a script.
