Green Breeches

Last winter I rode in thick breeches sometimes adding a liner underneath if it was windy. The bathroom scales and the fact that I could add an extra layer gave me a false sense of what and where my body fat was.
Saturday was warm so I pulled out a pair of my favorite summer riding pants and paired them with a silky green hoodie. The riding pants are green with grey trim, have a problematic zipper and a tight fit - but they look adorable!

As Captain and I transitioned from the walk to the trot, the zipper of my breeches eased down. People were watching from the observation room so there was no opportunity for me to fix it. I gave my hoodie a downward tug to cover things sufficiently.
However, when we transitioned from the trot to the canter, the breeches' snaps popped open leaving me completely undone. Captain’s ears flicked up probably from the noise of the clasp coming apart and most certainly from embarrassment.
The weight that shifted may not go back. The green breeches must go!
