A Good Morning
It was shortly before eight when I led Captain from his stall to a grassy mound dappled by sunlight. We were basking in the success of yesterday’s performances. Even though we didn’t speak the same language, and he weighed 1,100 pounds more than me, it felt like we were a team.
A Good Afternoon
Our first course was Equitation. I remembered myself hunched over the steering wheel for 11 hours on Friday and tried to force my shoulders back.

I was making my way back from the porta potty (my sixth trip that morning) when Jen told me we got Champion of the division.

A Good Evening
At the barn, I met up with the bigger team of Georgelyn Farm. My debt to Jen and our Assistant Trainer, Caitlin, is too big to put into actual words. Although I don’t know how to get home, I realized I didn’t care in the least.
